I realized this past Wednesday, as I was in the throes of a school day, that I had completely forgotten to post the next installment of my serial.
I’M SO SORRY!!
Especially because I know of a few specific people who really look forward to it, I’m really sorry that I forgot to do that!
But in all honesty, life’s a bit wild.
Especially last Saturday, there were some big life events that took place, so I really lost track and the story skipped my mind.
It began as a dull Saturday, getting up at the ungodly hour of 5:15 AM so my mother could drive me up to a place about an hour and a half away, so that I could get to a school there to take my SAT. When I’d finished, she took my siblings (who’d had to come along for various reasons) and me to a wonderful Greek restaurant. We sat down, ordered our food, and when that was all done, she looked us in the eye and said, “So guys… did you notice anything weird last night?”
As a matter of fact I hadn’t been home all day on Friday, since I had to work right after school right up until an hour before the high school half of my shcool’s Welcome-Back Ball. So I was not home from 8:30 AM until 10:45 PM – a solid 14.25 hours. But when I pulled up at the curb in front of our house that night, I did actually catch sight of a Jeep sitting in front of our neighbors’ house, and I really wanted to go back and look at it, because from the back it looked pretty similar to the YJ style Jeep I’ve been looking for for a few years now.
Return to the restaurant. I said, “Yeah, I noticed a Jeep in front of the neighbors’ house last night, and I wanted to check it out but I was so tired that I just went to bed.” She smiled and said, “I followed it up from Lewiston yesterday.”
I was very slow on the update.
I was thinking, “What a strange coincidence, that she followed our neighbors’ friend all the way up to our house from Lewiston.” Then she showed us a video and asked if we could tell who was driving it. “No,” I answered. She told us, “That’ was’s Dad.”
I must’ve been really brain dead from that SAT because my reaction was “Wow, how did you get to test drive the neighbors’ friend’s Jeep all the way up from Lewiston?” Then it kind of hit us. “Did you guys seriously just buy a Jeep?”

So yeah, my parents bought a Jeep — my dream Jeep, as a matter of fact, without telling us, and so now this rough-and-tumble beauty is sitting in our driveway.
So that’s why I didn’t post last Saturday. My life’s been wild, as I now am learning (at long last) how to drive a manual, and also struggling with staying kept-up on senior classes, also while working till 7PM most afternoons (plus 8-hour days on Saturdays) and struggling to do all that while getting enough sleep so I don’t lose my mind.
There has been a lot of black tea.
To wrap up, thanks everyone for your patience, and I hope todays’ posts find you all well.
Cheers!
