It all began, I suppose, in the midst of the Covid crisis. That was when writing really became a thing for me as I spent day after day stuck at home, secluded from friends, classmates, and the whole outside world. I was estranged from nearly everyone I loved. I needed an escape. And so, hearing a lonely child’s plea for relief, writing began to beckon, and immediately I was sucked into the world of creation.
Fast forward about 3 years, I’m about to be a senior in high school, and I haven’t yet published anything. Until I get the idea to publish online. No hassle with publishers, no awkward battles over what scene goes where. My own stories, my own way. Enter WordPress.
With WordPress before me, I can now freely create and publish, and though much of this work is still only a fledgling in the nest — bald, ugly, flightless, and desperately in need of revision — I have hopes that someday that fledgling will take flight.
